Maryrejahlil Lanier (they/she) is the new Research Project Coordinator working on projects related to transitional age youth (TAY). Maryrejahlil just graduated from the SSW in May 2021 with a Macro/Clinical focus in Social Work in the Workplace and Employee Assistance Programs (EAP). They were also extremely active in service organizations, having served as the co-chair of the Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee (DEIC), in addition to having co-founded GOTV with SWOCOS. They were an active member of many students groups including, but not limited to, SGA, USGA, AntiOppresion Work Group, OASIS, DREAM, Queer Community Alliance, the Alliance of Anti-racist Social Work Practitioners, and Macro Student Union. They currently sit on the SWCOS Community Advisory Board, Black Yield Institute’s Circle of Wise Council, Ubuntu Collective, Mid-Atlantic Anti-Oppression Social Work Coalition (MAASWC), and the B-CIITY Coalition. Maryrejahlil works every day with the goal of advancing the liberation of the people. They are a proud alumna of the Baltimore City College High School and hold a BS in Psychology, Sociology, & Anthropology and African & African American Studies from Towson University. They have not left the SSW since having completed an AmeriCorps year of service with Public Allies Maryland through SWCOS in 2016.
