Jill Farrell is a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland School of Social Work, Director of Research and Evaluation for The Institute for Innovation & Implementation, as well as Co-Director for the Maryland Center within The Institute. Dr. Farrell’s background and interests concentrate on improving experiences and outcomes for youth involved with child- and family-serving systems, particularly the juvenile justice system. Prior to joining the School of Social Work, Dr. Farrell conducted applied policy research at the University of Maryland’s Innovations Institute, Institute for Governmental Service and Research, the Urban Institute, and the Maryland State Commission on Criminal Sentencing Policy. She holds both a Ph.D. and M.A. in Criminology and Criminal Justice from University of Maryland, and a B.A. with distinction in Psychology from Boston College.
