Bio: Dr. Bright is an Assistant Professor with the University of Maryland School of Social Work.  In her role, she teaches courses on juvenile justice services and social work practice with individuals, groups, and families.  Her practice experience involved case management, clinical services, and administration in programs serving youth and families involved in the child welfare and juvenile justice systems.  Dr. Bright’s research focuses on delinquency and the juvenile justice system, including issues of disproportionate minority contact, gender equity, trauma, substance use, adult outcomes, and implementation.  Dr. Bright  received Bachelor of Music and a Master of Social Work degrees from the University of Iowa, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Social Work degree from Washington University in St. Louis.
