Systems of Care

Building Systems of Care, by its own designation as "systems" as opposed to "system", requires cross-system partnerships with the common goal of developing a broad array of services and supports that are family- and youth-driven, community-based, and culturally and linguistically competent to improve outcomes for children, youth and families with multi-system needs. Systems of Care should not be used to refer to reform efforts within a single agency or entity.

Systems of Care are implemented at both the systems level (policy, financing, management) and the practice, or service delivery, level. For a full description of Systems of Care core values and guiding principles, see http://www.samhsa.gov/children/core-values.asp
